Kajillionaire – what to know …

Usually we scan the internet reviews of our next film and publish one or two on our blog, to inform you a bit more about the movie’s contents and what other viewers thought about it so far.

Kajillionaire is described very accurately on RottenTomatoes.com under the headline WHAT TO KNOW:

Whether you see Kajillionaire as refreshingly unique or simply bizarre will depend on your cinematic adventurousness — and fans of writer-director Miranda July wouldn’t have it any other way.

Sweet tale of a metalhead and his mum

Get ready for a nice movie night right after your Easter holidays, and this might also be one for your teenage kids.

DAYS OF THE BAGNOLD SUMMER “is good on the details of the tiny defeats and embarrassments of being an adolescent. … It’s a film that understands that one of the most humiliating experiences in a teenage boy’s world is going shoe-shopping with your mum.
… It’s a clear-cut .. dynamic — heavy metal-loving sulky son versus dowdy, knitwear-wearing librarian mum.”    (reviewed by Ian Freer in empireonline.com)

Tic toc tic toc …

.. the online ticket sale for TINA is open tonight until 11 pm. Or buy your tickets directly at the cash desk.

Anyway, it’s movie time tomorrow night, with Tina Turner on the big screen.

We always like to check rogerebert.com for film reviews, here is what Sheila O’Malley says about TINA:

“… Rock and roll is not just a young person’s game. “Tina” understands this deeply. ... You don’t see performers like Tina every day. Or every year. Or every decade. There’s only one. Let’s not wait for the eventual obituaries to pour out our appreciation. “Tina” allows us to do it now.”

Don’t forget to come early, PLATFORM 2 will open the festival with live music at 7.15 pm!

And … the bar is open.

We hope to see you there!
